Zune Enters Jamaican Market; Question Marks Abound
"Popular electronics store, Watts New, has added the 30-GB Zune player to its line over the last week, selling them for $29,5000 (plus GCT), compared to the 30-GB iPod for $33,500 (plus GCT)."
Out in left field, Jamaica Gleaner News has reported that the Zune has entered the Jamaican market with a hefty price tag of $295,000 JMD ($4,810 USD) each, or the more acceptable (typo-less) price tag of $29,500 JMD ($481 USD) each. You decide. ;-)
All that said, we're skeptical. There's been hardly a whisper out of Redmond about an official Jamaican launch, and we think this is more a case of a Jamaican store importing Zune devices from the USA and reselling them. Any new Jamaican-based Zune users here care to let us know if this is the real deal? How's that Jamaican Zune Marketplace, or is it non-existent?
