"@" Added to Morse Code
It can be argued that Morse Code helped to usher in the Information Age. 160 years ago, cable was strung across the globe so that important messages could be sent instantly. The International Telecommunications Union recently voted to add the "@" symbol to Morse Code - the first change to the code since prior to World War II. This change will allow ham operators to exchange their e-mail addresses more easily.
Still missing from Morse Code? The exclamation point!
