T-Mobile To Announce 3G In US on December 6
http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/news/2007/11/22/mobile-going-3g
"T-MOBILE is expected to make an announcement that it will provide a 3G service on December 6."
For those of you that are T-Mobile subscribers this is good news. Of course, the rollout will take time. I was traveling over the Thanksgiving holiday and encountered numerous cities and towers in T-Mobile's network that still only had GPRS, not the faster EDGE network, so I expect it will be several years before 3G is nationwide. Just make sure your next T-Mobile phone has 3G capabilities so when it does come to your area, you are ready.

That's great news. I've been keeping my t-mobile account active in hopes of a 3G rollout. The only thing I worry about is that if t-mobile uses the 1700 band for 3G I'll need to get a new PPCphone.

I doubt it. T-Mobile just recently came out with a slew of new phones (including the Shadow), and AFAIK, none of them are 3G capable.
If they were about to come out with 3G in a couple of weeks, wouldn't they start offering 3G phones, and also advertise their upcoming 3G?
Anyone have any idea on T-Mo Internet pricing, once they come out with 3G? Will the same prices currently charged for EDGE continue with 3G? Or will Internet pricing go up considerably? Or--two tier--current prices (or lower) for EDGE--and higher prices for 3G?
