Default Get Threaded SMS with Textr

http://www.mykesoft.com/textr/

"Textr is a program for Windows Mobile 5 & 6 devices which organizes SMS Text Messages into easy to read conversations. "

In Jon's Stable of Devices, a Treo 750v lives. And I HATE the threaded SMS app in it! I'd much rather have regular old SMS integrated into messaging. However, if you like Threaded SMS (And it's a free world, so you're able to express it), Textr looks like a nice program that can turn your boring old functional SMS messaging into threaded conversations. And it lets you back them up, which is a nice feature.

Nice looking app, but I prefer the free PocketCM Contacts. It also has threaded SMS and a WHOLE lot more.

Lots of additional themes/skins for this app here: http://pocketcm.com/phorum/list.php?8

I've been waiting for an app like Textr...I'll also check out PocketCM Contacts, but it may be bloatware ("and a WHOLE lot more").

Three questions: 1) my wife has Winsows Mobile 5 for Smartphone, and has been waiting for a similar app. Textr looks like its PocketPC only.....correct? Maybe others know of a similar smartphone app? 2) When you make Textr the default SMS app, does Windows Mobile still indicate new sms messages on the today screen WITHOUT Textr's today plugin?? I may have to demo it myself to answer this question. 3) Can I export SMS messages?? This is something sorely lacking in the Windows Mobile SMS client!

Regardless, looks great to me!

Default Nice but big

It's nice, it's just too bad the memory footprint is too large and it pulls too much program memory to run.

They've gotta go back to the drawing board on that.

Jon, you actually prefer the built-in way of handling SMS? There's always one I guess.

The first app I installed on my 6800 was the threaded SMS Palm App. I love it.

Can you provide a link to that app?
