HTC TyTN II Prints Documents Via Bluetooth
"It seems that HTC, not content with dropping the hottest and most anticipated Windows Mobile device this side of the planet, has decided to surprise everyone and drop in a hidden feature or two. A "Print via Bluetooth" option has been added to the Messaging menu. This will presumably allow users to print off an email, document, or other text by way of a nearby Bluetooth-enabled printer. Pretty gnarly! This would lead us to believe that the Windows Mobile 6 ROM that ships with the TyTN II, has a modified or updated Bluetooth stack that allows for OTA printing out of the box."
Exactly how many people out there have Bluetooth-enabled printers anyway? Still, any improvement to the Microsoft Bluetooth stack is a development to be welcomed - even if the utility of that improvement is questionable. What might be more useful is the ability to print...period. As mobile office companions, the inability to print documents is a rather big strategic hole in Windows Mobile devices. While 3rd party developers have stepped up to the plate, it's really something that should have been built into Windows Mobile from the start. Well, one can wish, can't one? Hopefully, there are more goodies yet to be uncovered...

I'm hoping voice command works better with this than the 8525/tytn. Not being able to voice dial over bluetooth without the hack really is a drawback for that device.

I know that's why I was so disappointed after dropping some coin to pick it up and finding out something I though would be standard didn't work. Just meant it is annoying enough that it would preclude me from purchashing any new winmo device that doesn't do it correctly.

Increasing numbers of printers aimed at enterprise level seem to have bluetooth enabled as a standard. For example, I've just installed a hp officejet L7780 all-in-one and that comes BT equipped. It seems to be HTC understanding that their major end market is the enterprise customer. And, under office conditions, printing via BT is the system I would want to work first before I go searching for all those pesky wires.

Cool! i've had mine for a week and didn't notice that.
It also shows up on the context menu for .txt files either in word mobile of file explorer. It doesn't look like you can print word or excel docs or outlook notes though.
Still very cool!
now if i only has a BT printer to test with...

is anyone else seeing this phrase doubled? im using opera mini beta 2?
what about "networked" printers. while I might not have a BT printer, could we have access through a BT dongle on a PC on the network?
