MoDaCo Posts Pictures of the AT&T 89xx/Tilt ROM "As well all know by now, the AT&T 89xx / 'Tilt' is about to hit the streets stateside. Our sources tell us that both the AT&T ROMs and the HTC ROMs are now finalised, and so I thought it would be cool to get my hands on a bunch of screenshots for your pleasure."

MoDaCo's gallery offers plenty on what we can expect to be bundled with the AT&T 89xx/Tilt: games, media applications, you name it. Head over there for the kit and caboodle.

A couple of bad signs jump out at me.
 1. Touchflo does not seem to be present... disappointing if not included, even if I never choose to use it. Still nice to have
 2. The presence of an External GPS icon scares me into believing they will cripple the internal gps to TeleNav only like the new BB being released.

I hope neither of these are true but fear that they might be.

Oh my.. that comes with a lot of crap pre installed...

My 8125 was soo nice.. Very little extra junk in the ext rom. Looks like we're gonna have to try to customize this one. Looks worse than the crap that comes on an HP laptop. Every demo available pre installed into your rom..

Memory Another bad sign? Or am I misreading it?

Storage memory shows Total of 124.xx. This is the Flash ROM right? Everything I've read says it's supposed to be 256M. My Dell, w/ 256M indicates 195.xx on this screen.

 Any ideas anyone?

 | No, 124MB would seem about right. I wouldn't be shocked to see half the memory taken up with OS, bloat and crapware. The HTC Advantage I saw had similar specs and similar real-world numbers. |

Oh I see how it is Darius - when it's just run-of-the-mill kaiser news, I get it - but when all the cool screenshots come in, you keep it for yourself  just kidding!

Anyway, there does seem to be some concern regarding the ROM, Especially since the Modaco site mentions that the icons for Remote Desktop are not to be found. I used to have no problem grabbing the AT&T / Cingular version of a device but now I think, more than ever, that I want the HTC version of this baby.

hmm removing remote desktop = bad. I wonder what else they removed?
Perhaps the huge discount for buying through at&t isn't worth it...
