PocketBible Comes To The Desktop - Soon

"As many of you have already seen in a recent newsletter, PocketBible software will be coming soon to your Windows desktop. The newsletter was somewhat vague about features so I thought I�d take a few minutes to provide some details. Briefly, PocketBible for Windows is the desktop version of our PocketBible software. It uses the same LBK file format as our PocketBible program for Pocket PC, but adds a tiled user interface with windows for your Bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, devotionals, and other books. You can hover your mouse cursor over any Bible reference to instantly see the text of that verse. And of course you can search, annotate, highlight, and bookmark the text just like on your PDA."
I know a number of you are Laridian PocketBible users, and now you'll finally have a desktop companion for this popular Pocket PC product that will allow you to synchronize notes, highlights and bookmarks. This will be great for more indepth study sessions where the screen of the Pocket PC isn't too conducive to opening a lot of windows, but the results of your studies will sync right back to the Pocket PC so you can refer to and modify them when on the go! There is a lot more information at the link above. I can assure you, Laridian fans will be happy with the program. :wink:
It will require PocketBible 3, so if you haven't upgraded from 2.x yet, and this is of interest to you, now is the time. If you are already a 3.x user, you'll need to upgrade your Pocket PC version at some point so two synchronization will work. Too early to do anything yet - nothing has been released and there are no prices, but according to this blog entry, the release date is soon and Laridian has always had attractive pricing.

I've always thought having a desktop version would be nice if we can use our same Bibles and other resources, especially considering how much I've invested in them over time. I'm looking forward to seeing this!

Definitely been looking forward to this.
Wonder with the advent of pocketbible for desktop, and the bookbuilder already available for pocketPC, we'll see a similar bookbuilder for desktop.
The closest equivalent to this would be iSilo and iSiloX but they are not bible-specific.
Laridian don't usually comment on their future release speculation but that's only a suggestion!
Thank you very much for making PocketBible - I have been using it since Pocketbible 2. My only suggestion is that Pocketbible 3 no longer had the scroll arrow on Pocketbible2 and there is a noticible delay between switching pages. I wonder if we are able to choose between the different interfaces without having to reinstall new books/program.

I too love PocketBible! Thanks for making a great product. I only hope that Craig doesn't sell out. After he sold Quickverse, the support went to pot. I had to switch to a competitor (PC Study Bible) due to lack of support. PC Study Bible was harder to use & much more expensive. I own the $400 version of PC Study Bible but find that I use Laridian's PocketBible3 a lot more often. I've been using Laridian for as long as I've used a Pocket PC (began with iPAQ 3650).

Not to take this OT, but has anyone ever had the need and/or tried to merge notes for PocketBible? I have some notes/highlights from my old and new PDAs, and want to merge the two.
