Default HX2490 bluetooth synchronization with Vaio

Can anyone help me set up bluetooth synchronization between my HX2490 and a Sony Vaio (with built-in bluetooth)? I can synchronize perfectly with the USB cable (after some problems in hacking a way through my updated Norton firewall!!), but I can't set up the bluetooth synchronization, mainly because I can't find out what port to use. I've partnered my PDA with the computer, but the default connection port assigned by the bluetooth set-up is 43, and ActiveSync only goes up to 20 - don't know if that's the problem. Forcing it to assign another port doesn't help either, ActiveSync just can't find the device. Any help would be much appreciated - maybe it's just not possible, but at least I'd know!
