i-Mate JAQ3 To Get WM6 Upgrade
"i-mate will soon be releasing a Windows Mobile 6 upgrade for their JAQ3 device. The JAQ3 device - detailed here - is a thin, landscape QWERTY Pocket PC, and joins it's SPL sister in receiving an update to the latest release of the Windows Mobile OS. The JAQ3 is quite a nice device already, and when you add the improvements of WM6 into the mix, i-mate could be on to a winner!"
With WM6 officially out, we're starting to get announcements on devices that will be upgraded from WM5. i-Mate will be one of the first to have a go at updating the JAQ3, making a half-decent device that much better. No information yet on availability or whether any charge will be levied for the upgrade - but we'll keep you posted as always!

I would like this device and buy it if Sprint PCS would offer it. But wait!!, I mate thinks all people want to buy antique GSM phones instead of CDMA. :evil:

I don't want to put the Jaq down, but I was hoping that the first updates would come to something a little more interesting, something from Htc maybe? like the hermes or the Athena. Some of the powerful pda's should have it soon, seems like a waste of so much especially with how new the Athena is. I just want to see a device that I like a bit more with the update. I don't hate the jaq series, I'm just not a huge fan. But i guess imate proved their support if they have it out as one of the first with the update.
