Default Universal Infrared RemoteControl II Updated

http://www.wincesoft.de/html/remotecontrol_ii.html

"We have released a new version of RemoteControl II (v2.09).

New features:
Complete rewrite of all bitmap- import functions (BMP, JPG, GIF).
Support of the PNG (Portable Network Graphics)- bitmap format added.
Optimized memory management (50% less memory required. Useful for large projects (>30- panel- pages) with hi- res- VGA- backround bitmaps).
Support for devices with quadratic (240x240)- display added.
 240x240- default skin added.
 New button- layout- selector."

Already extremely customizable, RemoteControl II receives some significant updates. Wonder if this will work to change the channel on TV's in restaurants? You can purchase from WinCESoft or from our affiliate link.

This looks like a decent program but I can't seem to get past the graphics and how they advertise it on their site and handango. It reminds of those nightmarish days of windows 95, the days I rather forget. It also seems a little costly for another remote control app for handhelds. I also haven't read anything about having a preset code layout, I could be missing it but it hasn't stood out. I much rather have a program like novii which is also half the price for the basic which is most many will need and deluxe is about the same maybe a $4 diffrence. Novii has the most complete code database I've seen and looks and functions nice at it. I'm just hard to sway. I don't use any right now since it seems like most devices nowadays have week IR unlike palm, which is the one thing I will complement them on.

Hello,

I have tested on my devices (Dell x50v and HTC Prophet, aka as XDA Neo, Qtek S200, I.Mate JAMin ...) several IR- remote control applications.
Only two of them support the CPU (TI- OMAP 850, this is used in most of the available mobile phones) of the XDA Neo:
Novii deluxe and RemoteControl II.

Novii deluxe was nice, but in comparison to RemoteControl II:
  • -has a very limited layout editor, :duh:
-has only one fixed bubble- gum- button- theme included,
-doesn't support "real" hi- res graphics on devices with VGA- display (e.g. Dell x50v, LOOX N560 etc.)
-and cost $6 more than RemoteControl II :idontthinkso:
Have found some nice RemoteControl II- hi- res- screenshots of RemoteControl II on a french discussion board: http://forum.annees-laser.com/viewtopic.php?t=26628
This is impossible with Novii deluxe:

I get these IR- transmit ranges with RemoteControl II:
  • XDA Neo: 3m / 10feet (mobile phone with Windows Mobile 5)
    Dell x50v: 7m / 22feet (VGA Pocket PC with PocketPC 2003SE)
(Sould be enough to change the channel on TV's in restaurants )

RemoteControl II has all features included I want and is compatible to all my PDA's :way to go:

Official web- page of RemoteControl II:

Those pictures that PDATek showed changes my opinion on the quality of the graphics. The code base im still not sure about and that's a major issue to me. maybe someone can explain a bit what is available stock? I like the basic version of Novii, I haven't needed the editing nor felt the need. basic keeps it simple and that's enough for me. I'm afraide my IR won't be strong enough, I used some programs on my old toshiba genio e550g and I could only hit 3 feet. Maybe i'll see how this works.
