Default "Free iPod Video Converter" and free "Videora iPod Converter"
Lately I came across 2 free Video converters. The resulting files of the "Free iPod Video Converter" are 320x240 MP4-files which can also be used with TCPMP if you can get the codec. The user interface is VERY simple. 5 clicks and you are done.

The Videora iPod Converter produces H264 or MP4 files with several resolutions (from 160x120 --> 720x320) and quality settings. It gives you more choices but is also easily comprehensible.
