Ilium Software has sent us a note regarding their now-open public beta of eWallet 5.0. eWallet is one of my indispensable applications - getting regular use on all of the platforms I have (smartphone, pocket pc, desktop, laptop, even u3 drive). 5.0 brings a bevy of new features, including a bunch of new sync options (including support for network drives, flash drives, and even remote FTP sync!
Also included in 5.0 is the ability to have password-less wallet files (Which I can see as good in some circumstances, such as general-purpose information that isn't in need of a password), and more icons to better organize your wallet file.
If you're a current eWallet user, you'd probably be best advised to backup your wallet file before trying 5.0, and if you're new eWallet you'll be pleased to find a demo wallet file that can walk you through your initial setup!

Good timing. After having SplashID duplicate (or rather tripilcate) my data again (this seems to occur at least twice a month, and SplashData says it's an ActiveSync issue they cannot correct), I downloaded eWallet 4.1 last night. I chose this particular wallet program just for the import utility they offer. (I also have Flex Wallet, but I really didn't want to re-create over 500 entries to use it.) Glad to see eWallet 5.0 is coming out soon. I'll hold off purchasing until it does (and the beta looks good so far).
