Default Laridian Released Nueva Versin Internacional

Laridian has released a new book for its PocketBible 3 product, and this is one of the most requested translations I've seen asked for in the forums. It is the Nueva Versin Internacional, a contemporary Spanish translation from the original languages. As you can see by the image below, the verse numbers synchronize just fine with English translations, and presumably other books like commentaries.

The Nueva Versin Internacional is about 4.7MB is size and costs $19.99. You'll need the very latest release of PocketBible 3. If you already own PB3, the update is free. It can be ordered from the Laridian order form along with PocketBible 3 if you haven't yet purchased it.

I am so thrilled to have a Spanish Bible from Laridian that I purchased this immediately, even though it's not my perferred translation. I hope that eventually, they'll make the Reina-Valera 1960 available, which IS my favoured translation. (The RV60 is more or less equivalent to the KJV in English, whereas the NVI is the equivalent of the English NIV).

What surprised me was the absolute thoroughness of the translation with appendices and preface, etc. all in Spanish and the inclusion of the notes and glossary, which I didn't expect.

This is my first exposure with the NVI and I'm pleased with how well it reads. For someone for whom Spanish is a second language, the NVI does read "easier" than the RV60 and the language is definitely more contemporary.

Great job, Laridian and a definitely welcome addition to your reportoire!

Don
