More on Palm's Next Windows Mobile-based Treo on September 12
"Handheld computer and phone maker Palm Inc. is to unveil the latest version of its Treo smart phone next month as it attempts to revive sales hit by tough competition and problems with previous models. "The announcement is going to be made in the UK on September 12, and we will give all the details then but at the moment all we are saying is that it will be out before the end of the year," said a Palm spokeswoman. A September or October release is seen by analysts as vital for any firm hoping to cash in on the all-important Christmas period as they vie for shelf space with rivals' products."

Reuters is reporting that all the details on Palm's upcoming 3G-connected Windows Mobile-based Treo will be revealed on September 12. Since July, we've drooled over leaked pictures, heard about potential partners, and seen rumored specs flying all over the place. September's announcement should help us separate the facts from the fiction.

Still holding out
I was really hoping the 700w would be the one to get me to give my up Axim X5 and go for a consolidated phone/PDA solution. Sadly, it looks like they couldn't pull it together. I hold out faint hope that this new one will fix the bugs.

So will this simply be the launch of Vodaphone's WM model, or will Palm roll out the unlocked GSM Treo in synchronous to this event?
