TypePad Mobile Released by Six Apart
"Today we're excited to announce the release of TypePad Mobile, a free application for your Palm, Windows Mobile or Symbian Series 60 smartphone that lets you post photos and entries to your TypePad blogs and photo albums with just a few clicks. It's just the latest step in our goal to support blogging from wherever, whenever. TypePad Mobile comes from Six Apart's acquisition of SplashBlog. The Splash team has years of experience developing easy to use mobile applications, and we're excited to have them be delivering smartphone applications designed specifically to work with TypePad. If you have a TypePad blog and a smartphone that runs Palm OS 5, Windows Mobile 5, or Symbian Series 60, check out screenshots and download the application that fits your phone. Or visit our site from your smartphone to install it directly to your device. If you're curious, you can also read the TypePad Mobile User Guide in our (freshly redesigned) Knowledge Base."

If you use TypePad to run your blog, you now have the "official" solution for updating it from your Windows Mobile device. This is great to see, although I'd need something that works with WordPress - anyone know of an option? And speaking of blogs, does anyone regularly update their blog from their Windows Mobile device? It seems like one of those "great in theory" things, and while totally impressive to do, I have to wonder how many people do it. Raise your hand if you do and set me straight!

A few months back I wrote a little .NET 2.0 CF program that posts to Wordpress blogs. I have since used it on my PPC6700 to post to my own blog.
My blog entries about this little project: http://www.dkldomain.com/gadgetdude/...s=mobilepostit.
Some screen captures: http://www.dkldomain.com/gadgetdude/...postit-v1-beta.
I have only tested it on my own PPC6700 and thus only on WM5. The program doesn't have any fancy features like WYSIWYG editing (I prefer the "basic" mode anyway) or picture posting (I use Flickr's email-post-to-blog for that). It does remember your blog settings so you don't have to enter it every time.
It meets my Wordpress needs.

I have used Pocket SharpMT 3.2.1 from RandyRants.com with great success on my T-Mobile MDA. He just released version 3.3. I beleive it works with Wordpress.
I will have to see how the Typepad app stacks up.
Once last thought; now all we need from the sixapart folks, is for them to improve the mobile viewing experience, something like what MS has done with MSN mobile spaces...

Anyone know of a good WM blog editor that works with the Blogger API?

I would like to get a copy of your program for my ppc6700 to run my blog site on jednang.com. it would be much easier while I travel a lot. I checked your website and no download available

I never put up my little program on my website because there was never a demand for it. I didn't publicize it nor do I have friends with WM5+Wordpress combinations.
I will try to put it up tonight once I get home from work. It's just a little 34k .exe. No installer to run, but .NET CF 2.0 is required, of course.

I used Joshua Foster's DeadJournal from my Dell X5 back in spring 2005. Worked flawlessly. Free, too.

Got bored, stopped blogging after 3 entries and a couple of visitor replies...

My blog is on LiveJournal which supports email blogging, so I occasionally blog from my PPC 6700 just by using the Inbox app and sending the entry to the email address setup by LiveJournal.
Simple and effective.
