Default Engadget Mobile: T-Mobile's UMA Goodies Exposed

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/...oodies-exposed/

"It doesn't take an industry insider to notice that T-Mobile's been putting together plans for a UMA service to bridge their GSM network with public and home hotspots here in the States. We've also guessed that Samsung's T709 would be involved, and though we still don't have anything approaching an official confirmation, these pictures have filled in some blanks for us."

I posted yesterday on an NY Times article discussing the future of dual-mode phones, it appears that Engadget Mobile has some great info and snapshots on what appears to be T-Mobile's first UMA-supported phone, which is manufactured by Samsung. Unfortunately, it appears the phone itself is a bit lacking and the performance so far has been inconsistent amongst the beta testers, but I believe we all have come to expect hiccups in first-generation devices. More importantly, this does symbolize that the future is much closer to realization than ever before.

There's only more to come and very soon  Technology is still a bit flakey but this is what I've been wanting for a long time. Now if they'd release the MDA II with UMA...
