2.75" HDD?

I just took apart my archaic Nomad Jukebox 3 MP3 player, to try to salvage the harddrive for data transport purposes, and the thing is 2.75" across. Is this a standard 2.5" harddrive (2.5" platter but 2.75" external? All the billions of times I've swapped harddrives in machines, I never bothered to measure to see if the 3.5" drives are exactly 3.5" across externally) and will I be able to stick the drive in something like this to lug it around? __________________ iPhone 4! ☠☠☠ Mid-2010 15" MacBook Pro! ☠☠☠ Gateway LT2102h! ☠☠☠ Dell XPS M1210!
