Earthcomber is really a "value-add" solution for anyone with GPS (and even those without). The key here is the ability to actively notify the users of user-customizable points-of-interests as they move from location-to-location. This service (also referred to as "spot guides") range in price from no-cost to about $19.85... and while the solution is most powerful with a GPS receiver, users without GPS can still use the maps and manually enter their current location to discover desired points-of-interests nearby.
