FCC Approves the Inventec Mercury Pocket PC Phone
This looks like another device of the Blackberry-type form factor that we've seen in the Pocket PC Treo and the HP Messenger devices. Some of the general specifications include Quad-band GSM, 2.6" QVGA screen full QWERTY, WiFi, Bluetooth, mini-USB connector, IrDA... (You can find the manual here).

Yes, you read that right. That IS a legitimate 320x240 QVGA screen (defaulted to landscape mode), as opposed to the square resolution we've come to expect from the likes of these devices. That's all well and good, but I'm just not sure I like the idea of my device looking like one of my old scientific calculators. :|

I thought the same thing. Seems to be a very interesting device, I like the dimensions and don't mind the landscape screen, but the gray and white make it look more like a toy than a business tool. There are ways to do the iPod white look, without making it look like a toy, Inventec just didn't figure that out. 8)

Funnily enough Inventec actually manufactures Ipod's for apple. Maybe that explains the colour.

Yea, the design could be better...but I like what it has. How much will it cost? Will it be sold in the US?

According to the user manual submitted to FCC, the device is Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC Phone. The device has no Wireless LAN.
