http://www.phatware.com/phatpad/index.html

"PhatWare Corporation, a leading provider of software products and professional services for mobile and desktop computers, announces PhatPad 3.0 to provide mobile professionals with more creative options for taking notes and to make notes easily accessible anywhere. PhatPad is an award-winning notes organizer for Microsoft Windows-based devices, Tablet and Desktop PCs that allows users to draw pictures, write text and create animation on a virtual scratch pad."

Popular note-taking application, PhatPad, has just been updated to v3.0 with a bundle of nice features to go with it. Now included in v3.0 is the ability to add voice notes, a Today screen plug-in, two customisable pop-up toolbars, a new file manager with note previews, and a new search dialog box. Windows Mobile 5.0 users will also be able to take advantage of integrated camera support and more. Handango is selling PhatPad 3.0 for $29.95, with a free trial version also available. For all registered users of previous versions of PhatPad, upgrading to v3.0 will cost $19.95. [Affiliate]

I really would love to buy it to go with my new copy of Caligrapher but it is soo expensive. It's almost as much in pounds as in dollars - 20/$29.99. Also why are all of the special offers never in pounds, it's always in dollars. Anyway off the rant it does look very nice.

There's actually an additional $5 discount for upgraders if you buy before the end of February. That brings the upgrade price down to $14.95, which isn't so bad. I'm willing to pay that just to get the Today screen plug-in!

I'll have to wait until February to purchase this. Darn New Year's resolutions.

I just installed PhatPad3.0

Now I can't seem to find a way to sync the desktop app with the PPC app. There's no option in ActiveSync.

PhatPad syncs its notes as files, rather than databases. At least v2 did.

That's a bit disappointing. I keep all of my data on my SD card (more than one level deep)

Synching is okay with Soti Pocket Controller, but managing them on my PDA will be a nuisance.

I'm sure I'll survive ... somehow.
