Some Friday fun with today's bargain buy - the Pretec 12GB CompactFlash card for US$7059.95. Oops, my heart just skipped a beat. :duh:

It was originally $12,000 a year ago. It dropped down to $9999 4 month a go and now $7059. This is a pretty slow pace to me.

it's crazy!!!!!!!!! $7,279.95 for 12GB of memory??????? 8O I can buy hundreds of 2GB SD with that.

Fair enough...
I bought a Nikon D50 DSLR a couple of months ago. Between the D50 and the D70 I decided based on... SD cards! The D70 is CF only, so the D50 was the option for me.
I can get the SD card out of the D50 and straight into my tablet PC, or Pocket PC. I bought two Pretec 133x 1GB SD cards for about US$80 each. They're fast! I don't even need much pause between shots.

Seriously, who would buy such a card for so much money off of expansis? 3, 4gig cards would only cost you $700, or so not $7000. Displaying such a card to your co-workers would only show your fiscal stupidity not your super geekiness. All the beta testers should get theirs free... and odd item...
