SplashBlog Available for Download
"SplashBlog lets you instantly publish photos from your smartphone to an online photo album (photoblog) to share with others. SplashBlog includes everything you need to share your photos, including software for your smartphone and a free online photoblog account at splashblog.com. Just install the FREE software on your smartphone, create your free splashblog.com account and start photoblogging!"
We posted on SplashBlog back in September, but a Windows Mobile (Pocket PC and Smartphone) version was not available for download at the time. However, it has just been released as a public beta, with a final version expected in the coming weeks. Don't let the beta tag fool you though - it's a very stable release. Grab it from here.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but I wanted to find out if FREE meant FREE, and to what extent. From all the lookaround on the website, perhaps I'm just blind, but I didn't find a place that mentions a price or a FAQ on how many pictures you can have, how often you can upload, if you can place it on your own webserver, etc.
It's not until I found the Yahoo! groups that there was a discussion that seemed to get a tad heated.
Unless I read otherwise, you can only post 100 images. After that, there will be a charge for the service. I see a price of $19.95 discussed (possibly an annual charge), but again, I find no mention of pricing on their product pages.
I posted news of this product on my blog and was also excited for the release, until someone mentioned that TextAmerica.com can do the same thing without software, post unlimited amount of images, and people can comment on them. All you need to do is email the photo to your TextAmerica's special email address that you specify and it posts it on your photoblog on their server. Since the Camera applet on many devices has that feature to email a photo, the procedure is nearly painless. Also, TextAmerica's blog is fully customizable.
I do like SplashBlog's interface and even faster procedure to post to the photoblog, while seeing the comments and posting your own. Personally, I just don't know if I can justify a supposed annual pricetag for something that another service offers for free.
Again, I just felt it was in the best interest of the users that they know as many services and products as they can to make the best choice for themselves. I am not affiliated with either product, I'm just like the many of you who are looking for the next cool thing for your Windows Mobile device.

Just install the FREE software on your smartphone, create your free splashblog.com account and start photoblogging!
The software is free. I thought I saw somewhere that 500 pictures was the limit, but alas I can't find it again.
It is an enigma.

How much do upgrades cost?
The SplashBlog software is free, and you can load up to 500 photos for free to your SplashBlog.com photo blog. If you need more photos than that, you can upgrade to a Pro account for $29.95 per year.

TextAmerica.com
If you want FREE then create a TextAmerica.com account for FREE, then you just send your picture as an email to your textamerica account and it is up there with in seconds. I've been using this for at least a year and have uploaded hundred's up photos.
Plus you can then place a little javascript on your personal web site to display the latest uploaded pictures.
You can check mine out to see what I mean. There are three MoBlogs on the right side going down.

If someone would release a product like this that doesn't have to be e-mailed, but can instead be updated on a sync, it'd be great. Something along the lines of PocketLJ|PDA, with image support.
I do use TextAmerica, with my cell phone, but my PDA has no camera, and is not a cell phone, so instant uploads are not possible. (I do carry a digicam w/me though, so can get pics to/from the Axim.)
