Quake III on the Axim X50v/X51v
Remind me again why I love my X50v's Intel 2700G? Oh, that's right, I can play Quake III! PocketGamer has all the buzz on a free port of Quake III optimised for the Axim X50v/X51v's Intel 2700G GPU. As long as you have a copy of Quake III installed on your PC, and a spare 128MB (or higher) memory card floating around, then you're all set for hours of non-stop mobile fraggin'.

I'm guessing this is another case of W?BIC?
Seriously, how are you going to be able to move around, aim, shoot, etc. with the x50v's tiny d-pad and buttons?

I guess you use the sylus too, maybe tapping the point you want to shoot and use the D-pad to move?

nevermind - 15-20 fps seems really good for a PDA.

I am sure that it can work - I have been a long time player of the free port of the original Quake on a range of PPCs and found the combination of dpad, stylus and buttons to be no problem.

I just HAVE to ask - why in the world (other than showing off to non-PPC owners) would you even want to play Quake on a PPC? The experience would be SO unsatisfying compared to the same play on a PC....
