This application reminds me of the old days when scientific calculators with large screens first started to appear. The "scientific" part wasn't as useful to me as just having that large screen where you can see the entire equation of numbers that you were entering. calcPad is nothing revolutionary from a graphical standpoint and there are no advanced scientific functions supported here, but to see the entire calculation and to have the capability to go back and modify, restructure, or even save your calculations are such simple yet useful functions. The price is $9.95 and a 30-day trial is available.

Does it have Windows Mobile 5.0 and VGA Support?
That looks really cool 
I do calculations at work all the time that need this sort of thing.

Interesting.
Have somebody missed the invention of the spreadsheets. How one of them was called :? ... oh, Microsoft Excel, I think. :lol:

Revolutionary? What about Visicalc, which debuted 26 years ago?

On this note, does anyone know of a decent PPC scientific calculator which isn't completely over the top? I'm talking something in the same sort of vein as the Casio fx~82 pocket calculator...
Everything i've found so far is either too basic, or far too complex :/
doesn't matter if it's commercial - I don't mind paying for something decent.

The problem with spreasheets is that they don't have a nice calculator interface like that.

I sure could have used something like this last semester when I was taking that accounting course. I had to resort to dragging around my Ti85 to make sure I was entering everything correctly.

Calc98 from http://www.calculator.org/download.html is very good. It is freeware and a colleague and myself use it a lot. I have been using it since I got my first PPC (Jornada 545). I now use it on my iMate JasJar!

Actually, I do use Excel and that's part of the problem. For any involved calculation I want to make, I have to launch Excel, start inputting numbers, create the formulas, close Excel, and then delete the file that was just created... and as mentioned by someone else, instead of a calculator interface, you're having to deal with a SIP keyboard where you have to be far more precise with your tapping (not to mention having to deal with shift key for some of the operators).
That's not to mention the fact that you either have to delete those cells or start working in a different set of cells if you want to make other calculations (i.e. - there's no "C" button in Excel).
I'd say that's a pretty big difference.
