Mobile Maps of India with Maptell
"Mobile/PDA devices enabled with GPRS connectivity can now access real-time location information from Maptell Website. The current version contains Indian maps. "We will be starting mobile map services for a number of countries soon. This portal is our initial step in that direction", said Jithesh Joseph, Vice President of Maptell Technologies. The current GPRS portal is the mobile version of Maptell's popular Web GIS portal for India. The GPRS portal will be followed by a number of mapping applications for smart phones and Pocket PCs. Maptell mobile GIS and Location Based Services are mainly aimed at delivering highly personalized, value-added services for wireless/mobile communication industry."

Looks like they have to smoothen rough-edges yet. Though overall a step in the right direction for us in India. Surprisingly, none of the metro cities are included. Hope it is just a matter of time before we see New Delhi in their list.
