The Gadgeteer Reviews EagleTec's SD to CF Card Adapter
"I live by the Boy Scout motto: Be Prepared. I have a zippered pouch in my gear bag that has all kinds of little adapters and tools. Things like the Victorinox CyberTool and FlexUSB adapter. I just found another adapter that will be taking up permanent residence in that pouch: The EagleTec SD to CF card adapter, which I received from Brando. There isn't anything really mysterious about this adapter. It is basically a CF Type II shell, with a slot that an SD card can plug into."

Sounds like a useful product, and it's great that it sits flush with the edge of the slot - the adaptor I have from Pretec sticks out the top of the slot. The lack of a lip for easy extraction makes it almost worthless in my opinion though - having to carry a tool to make use of another is not my idea of being mobile. ;-)

You could always just stick a post-it flag on the thing to get it out, like we do with our micro-drives. This is indispensible to those that have CF cameras, which typically have doors and don't work with the adapters where the card sticks out, and SD only PPCs. It's not the only one of these on the market, but is about half the price of the other ones I've seen.

Yep - the PNY is a good card. I use it with SanDisk and Kingston 512MB SD cards in my digital camera.

Anybody got a part number handy for the PNY Type I adapter?
Thanks,

I have a Minolta SD-CF1 http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=...&scoring=p I like that it is a type I card, and it works with my Canon Powershot with no problems. It lets me take pictures, and ftp it to using my smartphone on the go.

Just a question regarding the Minolta adapter, does the SD card protrude past the edge of the adapter. I am thinking of using one of these in a Canon EOS300D (Digital Rebel).
Trying to decide whether to buy a second hand laptop to take with me on photo trips or use my Pocket PC, pocket loupe or similar and a 4GB Microdrive to store the photos I want to keep. To do this I would need to use SD cards in the camera and transfer the images I want to keep onto the microdive at night using the Pocket PC
