Pocket PC FAQ's Behemoth of Windows Mobile 5 Screenshots

It doesn't take a genius to work out that Jawbreaker was never actually about breaking jaws, so it's nice seeing the bubble-popping addiction being affectionately renamed to Bubble Breaker. But back on topic - Chris De Herrera managed to take the time to compile a colossal-sized page of Windows Mobile 5 screenshots for Pocket PC and Smartphone. The sheer volume of images will surely make any dial-up user quiver with fear. You have been warned.

I never had a problem with the name Jawbreaker. The "bubbles" looked like the hard candy that I grew up knowing as Jawbreakers.

WM2005 looks good. heck! most Microsoft products look good. Now! When we talk of how well they work thats a whole different story.
I'm not one for facelifts. Thats why I never had a problem using DOS. All I want is an efficient working OS.
Many of the user requests haven't been implemented.
What happened to true OS font changing and resizing.
What about option and better UI for MSNMessenger.
The list goes on.
What about easier methods of flashing ie active flashing where the OS detects the hardware and installs all the necessary drivers and apps. Just like on a PC.
I'm just not impressed.

Yup. Looks like they couldn't make up their mind, or more likely, Microsoft Legal got involved.

Fewer Alarms?
After checking out the screen shots, I noticed one thing that alarmed me (pun intended) -- there only seem to be three alarms allowed in the Clock settings applet instead of the four currently allowed. I want more alarms (ever heard of scroll bars, Microsoft?), not fewer. (Yes, I know I can use third-party programs, but why should I have to?)

I really like the new look. It's almost enough to make me want a new PPC.

For those who thought Jawbreaker made no sense...
Then...

Now...

History:
The name "Jawbreaker" is a generic name used by the candy industry to indicate a piece of hard candy. Prior to when Ferrara Pan began making the product, many people in the candy industry also developed a so-called "Jawbreaker". Once Ferrara Pan became successful with the Jaw Breaker product, they began to establish credibility which led to creating a prominent brand within the company. In the past year, the name Jawbreakers has been changed to Jawbusters, The Original Jawbreakers, to add a new twist to the product.

Don't get me wrong. I knew what a jawbreaker was from day one. Although I'm pretty sure jawbreakers don't make a "pwock" sound.
