Default Get Your Game on With Mastersoft Chess

http://www.mastersoftmobilesolution...L_NET_CHESS.htm

"Easy to play but difficult to beat, Mastersoft Chess is pick up and play chess at its best. Various levels, boards and chess sets combine with an impressive chess engine to offer you an ever increasing challenge. Whether you're just starting out or else a seasoned pro, Mastersoft Chess has something for you!"

I tried learning chess once many years ago, and it confused the heck out of me - maybe I'll get this program and try again.

I'm with you on the confusion thing.

I use Valentin Ilescu Chess from http://www.valil.com/chess2/index.html as it's free and I don't feel I'm good enough at the game to warrant paying for something that I'll never win anyway.

I agree with the post above. Also this costs $14.95. It seem a lot for what it is.

Though not for PPC...

Battle Chess for PC is a fun way to learn how to play chess.

Original Win 3.1 version (fits on a floppy!)... is free at Underdogs:

I guess I will give this one a try since I own almost every other chess program for the PPC out there. I have to say that I would love Battle Chess for the PPC.

I had to reply when I say the mention of BattleChess. That's how I learned to play YEARS ago. I thing it was on an 8088 or whatever came next. I remember it was commodore type graphics with only about 16 colors on the monitor.

Now I need to go look for an updated version. Highly recommended. I hope they didnt ruin it by going over the top with gameplay.

Oh lord the memories that brings back! My first chess game ever! A distant relative taught me to play and Dad bought this for my birthday. I didn't know you could run this on XP. I have my original floppy.
