"You can never have too much of a good thing. The Siemens SX66 offered by Cingular in the US is one of the many HTC Blue Angel variants sold around the world by several carriers and wireless phone manufacturers. ..The Blue Angel is HTC's third generation Pocket PC phone. HTC designs and/or manufactures many fine PDAs and smartphones, including several HP iPAQ Pocket PCs, the Treo 650 and the Audiovox SMT5600 Windows Mobile Smartphone. They are also responsible for the well-received XDA II which was never offered in the US but was sold here by importers. The XDA II was the first truly powerful and feature-packed Pocket PC phone, and it set the bar for high end PPC phones. In the US, Siemens sold the first generation XDA as the SX56, and they now bring us the third generation Siemens SX66."

Its a great device and I have been -very- happy with mine, I just wish I could find a solution to my SD Card problem.

I assumed you applied the latest SX66 update from Siemens' website? I have a PDA2K and played with an SX66, and I must say, even out of the box, the SX66 had much outdated ROM revisions and software add-ons.
I used the hacked SX66 Update onto my PDA2K and reapplied the missing camera software (all thanks to everyone at xda-developers.com) and I'm running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition 4.21.1088 build 15005.1.2.1 from "1.33.10 WWE, 01/21/2005" OS ROM and Radio ROM 1.08.00, plus I've cooked up my own third-party add-ons in the Extended ROM (ExtROM) from all the latest pieces of the Blue Angel models. You can verify your settings in the Device Information applet in the Settings page.

I need to know the same thing. I am hoping for something like Chatter for the Treo. I don't want anything to do with a monthly/yearly subscription or aything that requires an install onto our Exchange Server.

I am using the PPC-6600, pratically identical, and since I have unlimited Web I use Pocket Outlook to send emails out with my POP3 email account all the time. I dont have it to check my emails but you can set it to check the mail at certain intervals.
Works good.

yes, it will turn on and play a noise and display a message when it gets new mail.
there are a few ways to go about this.
you can setup messeging to check your email at a selected interval via pop or imap. this works well, it is what i do.
you can also setup activesync on the device to sync directly with your exchange server, if you have one. i don't do this because this is more of a personal device and my exchange server is work related. i have a friend at work that uses this method and loves it. sometimes his ppc knows he has email before his desktop outlook beeps. lol
you can also have this sync tasks, calendar, and contacts along with your email. so if you get a new appointment via shared calendar or something it gets synced over. very handy.
it is not exactly push technology but it does work well.
i really love my sx66. it really is my primary computer. i very rarely read this site on anything else.

I run the personal edition software client on my desktop to push email. If you are using MS Exchange Server 2003, then the server is set up to push emails too, but it's often a hassle (not supported) with the IT department so I run the desktop client instead. It's also capable of running with multiple email addresses at the same time so if you have a work email, yahoo account, etc you can get them all.
I'm not too happy with the sound quality of the phone (the person I speak with often cannot hear me.) Other than that...it's the coolest thing I have ever owned!!!

The previous posts here refer to checking email accounts at regular intervals. Is there a new solution for the Pocket PC that addresses new email as it arrives. I don't want to set up my 6600 to check all of my email accounts at a 30 minute interval. I want my corporate IMAP account to "push" email as it arrives. I also want to have my 6600 check a couple of POP3 at different intervals (i.e one every 4 hours and one every 12 hours). I also would like to have an application that can be triggered to fetch email via SMS.
Is there anything available for the Pocket PC to allow all of this without installling anything on a server or desktop?
As an example, Chatter (www.chatteremail.com) supports the MS Exchange IDLE command which gives you all of these capabilities for the PalmOne Treo. This gives me Blackberry functionality on a Smartphone with ONLY a client install on my phone and no additional software or configuration on the server side with only a one time purchase for the software.
There has to be a solution available.
