Default WorldMate Pro 2005 Integrates Desktop and PDA Clients

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.a...?ContentId=3746

"MobiMate has announced the release of new and improved versions of its travelling software WorldMate. The WorldMate Professional Edition 2005 for Palm, Pocket PC andDesktop platforms offer travellers and corporate travel planners enhanced itinerary and trip management capabilities, cross-platform synchronization and pre-planning and en-route travel itinerary updating features. WorldMate users with Palm and Pocket PC devices are now able to collaborate with the new Desktop companion and receive over-the-air (OTA) updates whenever a change is made to an itinerary. WorldMates Desktop Companion also enables users to send these saved itineraries from WorldMate to anyone on the Web via email as WMI file attachments."

If you spend a lot of time travelling, you may want to check this out. The desktop integration looks pretty handy, and the desktop client can even coordinate meal types, hotel arrangements, frequent flier accounts, and the phone numbers of your bookies in every city. Ok, so I made that last part up, but really, it seems like that's the only thing that this software doesn't do for the discerning traveller. What do you think? Does anyone here travel enough to be interested in this software? If so, your dreams can come true for only $69.95 via our pals at Handango. [Affiliate]

Sorry, just a simple question: is it the WorldMate 2004 Professional Edition version 2.0?

Or will make a new version 2005?

Just a simple comment.

Edit: Sorry, it's the 2005 version.

That is WAY too much money for a PPC application.

That's what I thought at first as well, but that price includes:

Quote:
Worldwide flight schedules* - comprehensive, reliable and up-to-date information service, always available on your handheld.
Supplied by OAG - the world's leading provider of travel information since 1929. Includes all published direct and connecting flights worldwide from over 800 airlines, featuring Dynamic Connections - identifying the 50 fastest connections to your destination.
Quote:
Flight Status** - gives you up to the minute updates on your flights status, to ensure that you know ahead of time if it's delayed or cancelled. This will allow you to arrive at the airport just in time!
Quote:
Weather Forecasts* - 5-day weather forecasts from The Weather Channel for over 38,000 locations worldwide, including over 30,000 US locations - searchable by name or zip code.
That's a lot of additional functionality. If I travelled a lot, I'd probably be willing to pay for those services.

Default i can't believe it.....

I bought this program way back when it was just their first release. Back then in the city list they missed my city....Edmonton capital of Alberta (they do include Calgary). I emailed them and got an answer that Edmonton will be included in the new version. It wasn't.... and still isn't.

Yes I know you can add cities to the list manually.... ok that's fine...but you cannot check the weather for that city...because it is not on the original list.

Now to top it all off... it's not VGA compatible.... at least not true vga. It displays in the top left corner of the screen.
Sorry for that price, at least make it a little bit more compatible with new devices, and for gawds sake include Edmonton already!

Just my 2c
