Default Node Explorer: Rugged Handheld for "'Location Aware Interactive Experiences"

http://www.nodeexplore.com/products.shtml

"Note has created a dynamic solution for interpreted exploration and site management of open spaces. Integral to this is the uniquely designed robust Node Explorer. Combined with the Node Engine and Dock this provides the ultimate platform for
location aware interactive experiences in open spaces, such as city parks, urban thoroughfares and country estates."

There's no word on any of the technical details unpinning this new 'dynamic solution'. All we know is that this handheld unit is location aware (GPS obviously) is ruggedised with a fully waterproof casing, has multimedia playback capabilities, a touch screen, a full day's battery life and is wirelessly network connected to the Node Engine (i.e. perhaps this is a thin client?). The onboard software includes Pathfinder (dynamic mapping and wayfinding to points of interest in real-time), Soundscape (three dimensional spatial sound), Projector Layers (enhanced images and information on the landscape) and Tracker (collects and records detailed information on each and every visitors behavior). You can find more information at the Node website and the product information for the Node Explorer is here (PDF) Don't forget, it has a 'Large recessed sponsorship area'! What more could you want? ;-)

Edit: You could want to run Linux, or Pocket PC as the OS, which aparently you can.

Doesn't appear clear from it's product spec sheet, but apparently you can choose between Windows Mobile or Linux as an operating system.
