Default Fujitsu P5010D Reviewed on Digital Media Thoughts

http://www.digitalmediathoughts.com...ion=expand,6576

This is off topic, but when I first purchased my Fujitsu P5010D laptop a year ago, there were a lot of questions from the community as to what I thought about it. I started to write a review, then shelved it for months - and today I've finally published it over at Digital Media Thoughts. So if you're interested in a small laptop with superb battery life, check out my review.

I can't get to it on my PPC. Instead, it says:
Template->make_filename(): Error - file does not exist

The problem appears to be just with the link; I can get to it directly. Anyway, good review. My wife's p2000 series laptop (similar to p5000, but a slower CPU) was also impressive when it first came out. I gotta say though, the Panasonic Toughbooks have owned all other small laptops for the past 18 months. They are lighter, have better battery life, better keyboards, and bigger screens. The W2 and Y2 are especially impressive. Some of the new Sonys are sweet too.

Wow, did you say that enough times? The P5000 is great, and I considered it, but now the newer P7000 is out and I recently acquired a P7010D. It's just a bit faster and has redesigned cosmetics, as well as a better screen and somewhat better battery life. Some of the Toughbooks are impressive too, but they were all bigger than I wanted to go - you've got to appreciate how small and light these little things are.

You finaly finished it

Jason... in your review... you keep mentioning the Pentium 4-M... which I think you are confusing with a P-M.

The P4-M is totaly different from the P-M that you have in the P5010.

BTW: Thanks to what you sent me some months ago... I bought myself a P5020.

I recently got a fugitsu P1120. Lighter, smaller, slower. And a lot cheaper...

I can wirelessly surf the web/email from my hotel rooms, run all my regular programs, play movies (ripped dvds), etc.

I'm getting to the point in which I'm re-evaluating the whole PDA concept, because neither MS/HP/Dell nor P1/PS seem to want to make something for getting real work done.

<$1200 for the P1120.

As far as I know W2 still is the lightest laptop with an internal ODD. (2.8lbs). I've used my W2 for about 15 months and it has served me very well. It is one of the very few laptops I can take out of the backpack using only 2 fingers. P5000 and P7000 are pretty good too, but they are tad heavy and running relatively hot.

Nice review. I've had my S6210 for almost a year now and I LOVE it! I agree that the screen is tremendous. Easily the best I've seen on a laptop regardless of size. There are just so many little extra touches that I'm still learning about. I would highly recommend Fujitsu for anyone looking for a laptop.

Oops. I came back here in PIE and clicking on the "Press OK to contine loading" pop-ups confused PIE into reposting for some reason. I can't seem to delete the duplicate posts now... if any moderators can do it, please feel free.
