Dell XP reinstallation CD....
Has anyone here successfully reinstalled XP on a Dell Desktop?
I went to help a guy get his 'puter running, and he had viruses and adware galore. I tried the reinstallation CD that came with his computer, but the only options were to repair the current OS or install a fresh copy.
I followed the install fresh copy selection, until it got to the warning that said that there was already an OS on that partition. I thought that it would be like a system resore CD, putting everything back to the way it came from the factory.
I've done a google search on it, and all I could come up with is to reformat C: drive and then run the installation disk. I just don't understand how you can reformat the C: drive and then boot from the CD.
Can anyone help?

Boot from the CD. XP installition will load. Then when you are at the screen to install onto a partition press 'D' then 'Enter' then 'L'. You now have a blank HD and XP will start to install.
