Default New Name, New Updates: Resco Photo Viewer 5.0

http://www.resco-net.com/PicView.asp

"Resco Photo Viewer is an ideal enhancement to your digital camera. It allows you to view your photographs easily and quickly, to store them in form of photo-albums which you can later edit, comment and send to your friends. The SlideShow function allows you to present your family albums in a fancy manner. [It is also] great as a received fax viewer, movie player and screen capture [utility]."

Resco Picture Viewer has become Resco Photo Viewer 5.0, and incorporates the following new features:

Image cropping and resizing (permits saving color changes and other modifications)
Enhanced zooming: better image quality achieved through bi-linear stretching
Improved video (better synchronization with sound)
Extended options for the thumbnail view
Printing capability (requires HP Mobile Printing)
Support for Windows Mobile 2003 SE (portrait/landscape switching, VGA resolution support)

The cropping and resizing ability sounds useful, and I wasn't even aware that it could play movies! Prospective owners: Resco Photo Viewer can be purchased for just $19.95 from Handango. [Affiliate] Current owners: Does this look like a worthwhile upgrade?

Do you really think it's worth $20? Is it that much faster than viewing images via IE? I found that loading 2MB images in IE rather slow and I'm using an iPAQ 5555.

I like the upgrade. Even after I purchased SPB Viewer I'm using this now.

Default Upgrade!

The Resco Picture Viewer comes with my iPaq 4155. I am wondering if I am entitled to a free upgrade?

I've used resco photo viewer and file explorer for about 3 years now. As far as I am conserned they are the best products in their class. When I got my ipaq 2215, which has not one but two picture viewers in rom, I tried living with out resco photo viewer. The built in ppc pictures is very basic and the ipaq picture viewer is nice but not as easy to use as resco.. and no where near the features. Being one who hates to install duplicate applications broke down and put a third picture viewer in my ppc.
There for a while I was shopping around for a photo viewer that would allow me to resize pictures on the go. I wanted to be able to take good pictures with my digi-cam and yet be able to post them to my blog while on the road, mostly for when I go to Japan next year. Fortunatly I held off because the few that could resize images had nowhere near the features of resco.
This new version of resco is everything I need. I love it!
