Default Trade in Your Old PDA For a Shiny New iPAQ

https://www.hp.tradeups.com/hp_pda_...cookie%5Ftest=1

Do you have an old PDA lying around the house? Is your old Palm still working after being a coaster for 3 years? More importantly, are you in the market for a new iPAQ? If you answered YES to any of these questions, HP has got a deal for you! If you purchase a 194x or 221x (1940 or 2210 for our Canadian friends) between March 28th and July 10th, HP will give you the fair market value OR $50 for your old PDA, whichever is more.

I have a Casio E-10, a Casio E-125, and a slightly used 1945. HP offered me $50 for each of them. Playing with the custom quote tool revealed that HP is willing to pay $50 for a Palm IIIc, $50 for most Clie models, and $100 for an Axim X5 Advanced. Pretty much any PDA you can think of is listed in their system, so chances are good that you'll be able to sell them what you've got.

Assuming you've filled out the paperwork correctly, a check will be mailed to you within 4 to 6 weeks. They'll even pay for shipping, but alas, you'll have to pay for the box. If you're thinking about getting a new 194x or 221x, this is a great way to defray the cost. So how about it - do you have an old PDA lying around that you'd be willing to part with?

I've been looking to get rid of my generously used Palm m505. Are there any other places that will pay for these things, or will I be better off to sell it on ebay?

If you don't want to buy a new one, I'd sell it on ebay.

I have a 1910 that I'm thinking of putting up on ebay.

I'd consider this when the 6xxx series comes out, if they still offer that. :|

Strangely enough, you can sell back your 395X series iPaq's, but no 397X.... interesting....

You should know better by now - us europeans are always ****ed when it comes to rebates or great deals. We pay twice as much and don't get even a single good deal...

Default Huh?

I don't think this is as good a deal as it seems.

HP must have been hitting the cherry flavored crack pipe pretty hard when they were coming up with the trade-in values.

When I checked the value of an old 740 I have, they offered me $50. The 740's are still available in some of the office supply stores in my area for around $350 (yes, I know that's high for this unit, now). But, you can also still find them on E-Bay for $175 and up.

I'll pass!

Anybody know if it has to be a working PDA. I've got a 3670 with a broken screen to trade in.

In the reallity is not HP the one paying or buying your PPC, its another company (I don't remember the name) and it's the same company working in the Trade in program of Toshiba. It was very sad when just 6 month after I bought the e740 Toshiba released the e750 which had fixed all the problems that were in the e740 and when I spoke to Toshiba that was the only solution they could find for me: the trade in program, but what trade is that when they offered for my 6 month old e740 75 dollars, and the funny thing is that same day I went and checked what they would offer me if was willing to trade the new e750 and they offered me 50 dollars!

The trade in program of that company is only good if you have some of those old but very old PPCs because even now if you go to ebay you will find people buying the Casio e100 for 100 and even 150 dollars.

If you really want a very good trade in program just use eBay, that's the best trade in program you can find and believe me, I know what I'm talking about because I have used it in all my PPCs. The last trade in was the e740, I sold it for $289 and got my h2215 right there in ebay for $325. That's a good trade in program!
