"Witty" worm?

Falstaff Thinker Join Date: Dec 2005 Posts: 449		"Witty" worm? One of my webdesign customers' web host was knocked off-line by what looks like a very nasty virus. I had never heard of this before, and was wondering if anyone here had. I'm curious to know if this is really a very bad and new virus, or if it is one that has had a patch out for months. Thanks.

But it only infects machines with certain versions of ISS products (BlackIce and another one I forget). It's kind of troubling though that a web host would be using such a light weight or even software firewall. I don't trust any business that doesn't have a hardware firewall. The company already was using this host when I started doing web design for them, otherwise I would've had them use my dad's company, as I know he always does updates ASAP. I may try to get them to switch, but they're a law firm and not very tech literate at all, they would just want to avoid any hassle of switching. I also hate that because their current host is ftp only, which is a pain to do edits with. Thanks again.
