Default WiFive: WiFi-based Pocket PC VoIP

http://www.wifive.net/

"WiFive Phone is the wireless VoIP application that combines the Mobility of a PDA with the Economical Efficiency of IP Telephony service. WiFive Phone lets users make a call to another PDA, PC or PSTN, and allows the service provider to build up a VoIP service platform unifying Wired and Wireless by interworking with wire-based Web Telephony service. WiFive Phone is the best solution that makes up for Handheld Devices' defects by using Polypix's Audio Streaming technology and Optimizing technology. Users can enjoy high-quality Communication service from now on."

Looks like another potentially useful VoIP platform for Pocket PCs. I haven't played much with them, but it seems like the test version is a free download for Pocket PC 2002 and WM2003 devices.

This program has been out for a while now. Polypix is great for pda to pda communications. It looks like the improved the UI and and re-badged it. I'll have to compare this new version to the old version I have.

Default funny timing

I have a thread HERE on VOIP. I'm testing VOIP with my HP 2215, SSL VPN with Cisco's 3005 Concentrator, and bluetooth head-set. Going to give this a try with our IP phone system. I'll download this too and see if it works in the above system.

What is the difference between this and Microsoft Portrait, except of the fact, that this app doesn't seem to send/recieve video?

To the two people who tried to call me using this software sorry I did not answer. I was watching TV in the other room.
I will be online until 22.30 GMT - 17.30 EST tonight if anyone wants to try calling again and test this software.
My number is 80002533.

Colin

P.S. Oh I am getting close to 100 posts.

I definitely heard you, Colin (don't know if you heard me). Couldn't understand a word though. Lots of noise and sounds.
Did you manage to have a decent conversation sofar?

All I could hear was a popping static sound and my voice echoing back. Thought I heard another voice but nothing I could make out. Shame.
I am just signing up for the Skype PPC Beta program so hopefully that will be better.
