Another possible Mega-Merger?
http://www.nypost.com/business/17300.htm
According to this article Time-Warner might have someone to sell AOL to: Microsoft!
Now, I'm scared of the implications - there being essentially one uber-internet provider?
Of course there are anti-trust issues that have to be resolved before this could go through.

Nah. I think AOL is an albatross at this point. Come to think of it, MSN is a albatross ISPwise. Combine the two and you'd have a disaster.

Well they are the two largest ISPs.
I know that Time-Warner tried to setup AOL as their corporate email provider at one point and failed miserably.
AOL and MSN have a big stronghold on the novice computer user though don't they?

Hopefully this is rumour. I'm not a fan of mega-mergers. I believe that, as companies get bigger and bigger and their reach gets wider and longer, it ultimately hurts the customer - at least in the long term.
