Default T-Mobile's WM2003 Upgrade Was Up, Now It's Down

http://207.36.160.46/~admin1/module...article&sid=895

Last night, I mentioned that T-Mobile had posted the WM2003 upgrade for their US Pocket PC Phone. While some people were successful in downloading and installing it, there has been more problems than expected. T-Mobile has apparently identified the "problem" and pulled the update for now, and rumors suggest they'll repost it in about a week. Sounds like old Compaq upgrades to me... At least we know that T-Mobile's WM2003 ROM image exists.

- try another hard and or soft reset. I experienced that on a previous beta and that fixed it...someone else also mentioned that he had to upgrade to AS 3.7.1 and that solved his problem too.

You should still be able to pull it down from here...

http://www.t-mobileapps.com/download...tail.cfm?ID=15

I am downloading it now, even as we speak, even tho I don't have a T-Mo phone...yet (well maybe...)

And yes, ActiveSync 3.7.1 is required with WM2003... If you're running any later version upgrade AS, try the hard/soft resets on the phone, a few PC restarts and you should be good to go...

Kind Regards,

Default So far, so good.

Worked like a charm, so far. A little funny getting it turned back on after the upgrade. I thought I'd read to hit the soft reset button, but it took the hard reset button to get it going again. I might have just misread the instructions. It was done in two parts. First, it upgraded the radio, and then it upgraded the OS and applications. Otherwise, just another ROM upgrade...

Default I now have a brick

The upgrade got about half way through and then choked for me. Apparently my device was subject to the 'bug' during install. T-Mobile customer support was very nice on the phone and are sending me a new device. If you haven't already upgraded, you might want to wait.

My phone only boots into the Wallaby bootloader now, no OS. More info and pics at my site: http://www.mikekrisher.com/

- word from T-Mobile is that in these situations where the upgrade fails, they will happily extend the warranties! So if you are one of the unlucky ones, they will happily swap you out with a new one.

Great customer service from their part - first they offer the upgrade on a device where some would have cared less about (remember the Toshiba e740), then should the upgrade fail, they (T-Mobile the carrier/not the device manufacturer) are willing to exchange them with replacements! Whether they are refurbs or not, I think them stepping in says a lot!

I can't get the upgrade started  It keeps saying that it "Cannot connect to your Pocket PC. Please check your USB/serial cable is connected correctly between the PC and your Pocket PC using Activesync".
I just synced and have a live connection. I'm running 3.7.1. I tried rebooting the computer and resetting the pocket PC.
The error comes up in a fraction of a second. It does not seem right that it would check the USB connection that fast.

Any ideas?
