pocketnow.com Reviews Ilium Software's ListPro v4.0
"Are you the list-making type of person? Do you have collections that you want to list on your Pocket PC? If so, ListPro might be for you. ListPro is a program that allows you to create and manage almost any type of list. This review covers version 4.0 of ListPro. Most of the testing was on my iPAQ 5555 running Windows Mobile 2003, but I also installed it on my iPAQ 3870..."

Do not switch views on a single tap. Single taps are for selection, not execution.

I concur. This has always annoyed me ever since I started using the program. There's the little bar at the left edge of the list in list view that you can use to select items without opening them, but it's an awfully little bar imo.

It's a good review. I never use the alarms feature.
I do agree with this VERY much. Probably the most annoying thing to me about ListPRo.

I love the bar, but do wish is were movable from the left to the right. The size thoudh for me is perfect.

Hi,
2 votes for "no more one click" and one for left to right selector bar. Got it! I passed these along to our developers. In general, if something bugs you be sure to write us. User requests/comments are a major part of our decision making process regarding what to change/add.

My vote would be if Ilium changes anything about single vs. double tap, make it a user option for sure. Some of us are used to the single tap thing.
I also vote for the option for the user to choose left or right for the select column.

Single Tap vs. Double Tap

I wrote the review, and actually did suggest making it an option to allow single or double tapping. The software has used a single tap for years, and has user inertia, so this really should be an option with single tap being the default to avoid confusing current users.
I am surprised to see others agree with me, but I'm glad my instincts as a user interface designer are still decent.
By the way, since I submitted the review to pocketnow, I have made some updates (additional screen shots of the file conversion dialog and alarms and more information about calculated fields). You can read the updated review at Silicon Valley Pocket PC.

P.S. Thanks for the home page reference, Jason. :way to go:
