Default Approved for Voice on AT&T Wireless Network: Intermec 700

http://home.businesswire.com/portal...081&newsLang=en

Intermec, one of the leading providers of rugged handheld devices, recently announced that their flagship Intermec 700 series are approved for voice transmission on the AT&T Wireless GSM/GPRS network. The 700 series is based on Windows Mobile for Pocket PC software and implements a 400 MHz Xscale processor. It integrates GSM/GPRS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. I have personal experience with Intermec 700 series and these are quality, industrial devices. In on of the largest implementation I was involved with, we deployed 1,200 Intermec devices and the client is very satisfied.

"The computers support Global Packet Radio Service (GPRS) wireless technology and Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), world standards for digital wireless transmissions. They enable users to transmit and receive voice calls and data wherever AT&T Wireless' GSM/GPRS service is available. Designed to withstand daily use in harsh environments, the 700 Series provides AT&T Wireless subscribers with the option to buy a rugged mobile computer powered by the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Pocket PC operating system. The devices feature an unmatched range of communications options, including GPRS, and the durability to handle the challenges of real-time daily work, whether on the road, in the field or on the factory floor."
