Titanium Cometh! Titanium Cases for iPAQ Series Pocket PCs

"InnoPocket is excited to announce their ultra rugged premium TiProTM Titanium Hard Case line for four HP iPAQ (HP) and two PalmOne (PLMO) devices to protect handhelds with the toughest metal hard case made. The TiPro line is manufactured of 100% titanium with shock absorbing neoprene lining and is available on-line in an exclusive arrangement with Mobile Planet.
Until now, with the introduction of the TiPro line, there was no titanium [case] option for the most popular iPAQ and Palm devices said Adam Willwerth, CEO and founder of Lava Solutions Group LLC, We are pleased to participate with InnoPocket and Mobile Planet in bringing this premium line of metal cases to device users. We know there is strong demand for device protection that only a titanium cases offers with functionality that is only available through InnoPockets advanced design, engineering and manufacturing capability.
The TiPro line of rugged titanium hard cases was designed and manufactured by InnoPocket -- manufacturer of the most successful line of aluminum hard cases on the market -- and fills a definite user need for a virtually crush proof and dent proof case to protect the device. InnoPocket is a market leader with innovative solutions such as internal SD card holders built into the device cover and a unique removable belt clip and post system that allows the user to either wear the device on the belt or remove the post when carrying it in a bag or purse. These features as well as cut-outs for IR port, SD/SDIO slot, control buttons and stylus access are all standard in the TiPro line. The titanium cover protects the screen when closed and the entire inside of the case is lined with shock absorbing neoprene to protect the device."
Titanium. I love titanium! I adore metal cases for Pocket PCs, and there's nothing sweeter than the titanium cases. This is awesome news for iPAQ owners!

I feel like I'm being left out of an insider joke. What's the attraction to titanium (aside from the fact that it's titanium)? Is it the durability? I figure it's durable and lightweight. Anything else?

I poked around on MobilePlanet, and only found the Ti case for the 4300 series (the one I was looking for). I have been looking for a decent case for my 4355 since I got it, and would love to get an aluminum or titanium hardcase.
However, the product page at MobilePlanet only shows a photo of the one for the 4100 series. It says "compatible with the 4300 series" in several places on the page, indeed, this is the only model number listed (because of it's size and shape, it's obvious that a case for the 4300 series wouldn't work on any other model). But there's still no photo.
It's too bad, too, because the list price is $99 (understandable that it's higher for Ti, though a hundred bucks seems pretty spendy when the Al cases go fo $30-$40). If it were $30-$40 bucks, I'd probably go ahead and order one, without having seen any photos. But $99 is way beyond my "impulse purchase threshold". Besides, my wife would kill me.
Proporta has been listing an Al case for the 4300 as "coming soon" for quite a while now, but I got burned waiting for the Al case for my 1910, so I'm not inclined to believe that it will be available anytime soon. No photos there, either.
Does anyone have any photos or more detail about a Ti/Al hard case for the iPAQ 4300 series? If I could get some photos and more details, you'd probably have a sale.

It looks nice, but I can't figure out why someone hasn't created just a basic flip cover yet for the 4100 series... :?

Aluminum case with a nice spray coat of tan paint?
My doubts are founded in the expense of true Ti coating.
That metal aint cheap, I just wonder how thick it is for 99$.
My guess is that it is an overspray on the aluminum. :?:

If it is anything like the Rhinoskin titanium cases of yore, it is definitely not overspray. One website actually tested the Rhinoskin titanium and aluminum cases by running over them with a car. The titanium cases protected the contents with no problem, and hardly a blemish on the case. The aluminum cases were crushed with all the contents demolished. I doubt an overspray would do that!

So this is one of the few times when a Dell owner got something before an iPaq owner
Seriously though...I bought Rhinoskin's titanium case for my X5 and have been very pleased. Very sturdy and well made in my opinion. It is heavy but I'll take that for the protection it affords.
Now...$99 is pretty darn spendy for a PDA case no matter what its made of. Thankfully the good people of aximsite.com got a discount code for $30 off with directcase.com which I took advantage of about 3 months ago (lucky thing as directcase.com is now out of biz!) At $69.99 is was a much easier decision 8)

Okay, is Titanium scratch resistant?
I have an Aluminium Hard case for my 2210 which my van keys scratched up quite nicely and which I am not happy about

Titanium is _much_ more durable than aluminum. You can park a vehicle on one of these and it won't bend so I assume it'll survive in a pocket with minivan keys.
btw, you spelt it the British way.
