Default Online Holiday Shopping Going Strong

http://news.com.com/2100-1025_3-513...ml?tag=nefd_top

"Even as a Commerce Department report put coal in the nation's economic stocking by showing a 3.1 percent month-over-month decrease in orders for durable goods for the month of November, two market research firms and e-tailing giant Amazon.com confirmed earlier data suggesting it was a record year for online holiday sales. Amazon called this its busiest holiday season yet and reported selling 2.1 million items in a single day--or 24 units per second--though it declined to say which day. The company considers the holiday season the period between Nov. 1 and Dec. 25."

I'm a huge fan of online shopping, and I prefer that nowadays to most brick-and-mortar stores, although I still haven't managed to get myself to buy clothes online. In any case, I'm curious how many of you did (some or all of) your holiday shopping using online etailers.

This is the 5th year in a row that I have done all my shopping on line. I can't deal with the crowds at the mall and the disarray at the department stores. I find that on-line shopping saves me time, aggravation and money because I can do a shopping bot search and find what I'm looking for at the cheapest price available, all without having to leave the peaceful surroundings of my home office. Nice!

I did all my non-food holiday shopping online, combination of Amazon and Barnes and Noble for the majority, and some smaller shops for the rest.

I moved the week before Christmas and hadn't done my shopping until the day before. Yikes! I'll never do that again. Online shopping couldn't help me this year. Maybe next. 0X

I did all of my shopping online this year. I was ready before most of my "brick and mortar" buddies had even started! The only thing I had to go out for was wrapping paper and cards, but I've ranted about that already.

Come on, Janak! Where's your sense of adventure? I ordered a pair of Mobile Pants from jcpenney.com about 6 months ago, and everything went fine! They were shipped quickly, no defects, fit perfectly! 8)

My sister is in Ireland right now (I'm in Canada). Amazon.co.uk made Christmas a snap this year (I hate shipping stuff...). 8)

I had no idea what I was going to buy anyone, so I braved the malls and decided what to get when I finally saw something I figured they might like. (A la foo:

But I very much enjoy shopping online.

The clothing article I won't buy online is pants. Dunno why a 33x31 in mens' pants is not the same regardless of brand/style, but it sho' ain't. Heck, I've purchased 2 different styles of Dockers in the same size on the same shopping trip, and they didn't fit the same.
