New Products For Laridian's Daily Reader

Laridian has released four new books for their Daily Reader program. Each is $9.99 and between 400KB and 500KB installed. They work just fine from storage cards or ROM file stores. The Daily Reader program is sold separately and you will also need a Bible translation so the verse links work. Laridian has a number of Bible translations ranging from free to $24.99. The four new books are:
� Drawing Near
� Strength For Today
� Spurgeon's Daily Treasury from the Psalms
� Time to Get Serious
Totally by coincidence, I was starting a year long study of Psalms with a group of friends, so I've picked up the Spurgeon's book.  Also, through the end of December, Laridian has modified their order system so you can buy their programs and books as gifts for others, so if you are a bit behind on your Christmas shopping, you should check out their offerings. Everytime I see a "new releases" announcement from Laridian I perk up hoping to see a New American Bible translation available. No such luck so far, though they said two years ago that they were considering it. Laridian is still my Bible reader of choice, only flipping over to OliveTree when I need the NAB translation.

Bible Knowledge Commentary
Has anyone used the Bible Knowledge Commentary from Laridian? It's a masssive reference (7mb) which is viewed through their reader app.
I'm curious as to the overall performance quality when viewing the reference side by side w/an open Bible version.

no problems here
well...i haven't used this reference but overall i don't have any problems viewing 2 books at one time. it performs quite well.

The size is apparently irrelevant. It seems Laridian uses the files as a database. Performance is no different than with much smaller references. I love the BKC. I have started using it more than the Life Application notes/NT Commentary.

I have been using Laridian software for sometime and really like the many various software study aids and daily devotion readings.
I just got a new Toshiba e805 that does VGA screens. Laridian stuff works almost perfectly in this mode. It is limited by the largest font size they allow you to choose (7 max). The VGA screen gives you 4X the space and makes using two books option great.
Another great source is soniclight.com for Dr. thomas Constables commentaries in PDF format. These also work great in VGA.
