Get All Your Email with OneMail
I was searching for the Hotmail plug-in yesterday, but I also found an interesting application that I don't believe we've posted on before: OneMail. For those of you with connected devices and Webmail accounts, this will be a God-send. I'm surprised that even with Windows Mobile 2003, Microsoft has yet to add Hotmail support. This means an opportunity for third-party developers, however, and the makers of OneMail seem to have stepped up in a big way.

"With OneMail for Palm/PocketPC, you can access all your webmails and favorite Webpages in One Click! OneMail consolidates YahooMail, MSN, AOL, Hotmail, POP Mail and Webpage to your PDA! You can read your HTML Email as Text Now - No more funny character and No HTML Viewer Required It is a no-brainer experience for any users! You will not miss any important HTML email sent to you. With OneMail for Palm/PocketPC, it can access your YahooMail, MSN, AOL and Hotmail in real time without subscribing to any POP Access and Forwarding Services. Yahoo is charging POP Access and Forwarding Services at $29.99/year. It is a great saving for you! Supports YahooMail, AOL, HotMail, MsnMail, POP Mail Access your favorite webpages as an Avantgo-like Service: converts any HTML to text, No HTML Viewer required"
You can download a free trial or purchase the application from Handango. [Affiliate]

This is a spam site
Just a word of warning. I inserted my email adress in this website to download their product, and I got spammed to dead on the very next day with 2 or 3 messages per day from banking company. Guess what? This company is owned by a banking company. The app is buggy anyway, so I just warn you: create a false mailbox just for this registration to get the info and watch it fills with spam.

One thing that I always think it could happen: get an application for e-mail, enter your details - and who guarantees that these are not sent home everytime you check your e-mails.
Easy way to get actual working e-mail addresses, uh?

Does anyone have any experience with this? I have decided to stick with Hotmail as my main personal email address, to avoid switching addresses when I switch providers. Now, I need a good way of accesing my Hotmail on my T-Mobile PPC Phone Edition running WM2003. Currently, I get SMS alerts for new messages, and have to try to use the Hotmail pocket web interface (which HATES WM2003, BTW), or just use a desktop computer. I need a way to be completely mobile with my email.
I looked at OneMail, but I'm on the fence, waiting to see what happens with Pocket MSN (with its promised Hotmail sync to Pocket PC) and the Pocket Hotmail plugin (which currently doesn't work on T-Mobile GPRS for some reason, and doesn't support WM2003).
I don't necessarily mind paying for something if it works, but I really want to make sure it's the right solution for me, and not find something better a few weeks down the road. I have an MSN subscription through my Verizon DSL, and I have paid for Hotmail Extra Storage.
The one downside I can see to OneMail is that it's still web-based, which means I can't use it with Pocket Inbox, configured to sync every n minutes, and show a notification when I have new messages.
What I guess I really would like to see is a 3-way comparison between Pocket Hotmail, Pocket MSN, and OneMail. I know that Pocket MSN isn't available yet, but does anyone have any thoughts on these three that you'd like to share?

It's Web-based? I haven't tried it yet, but I assumed that looking at the screen shot showing Pocket Inbox, that it plugged into that app...

It's not web based - I must have been thinking of something else.
But I did figure out what turned me off of it - you have to manually click "Sync" on the application, which then goes out to all of your webmail accounts, downloads the messages, and sends them to your PPC Inbox. Their site isn't clear whether this app lives on the desktop computer, or on the PPC itself. Guess I'll have to download the trial to find out.

EDIT: According to the user reviews at PocketGear, and my short testing, it does require the desktop PC to go and gather the webmail, and then sends it to the PPC. Great if you're always connected to a PC via ActiveSync, useless for wireless Internet connections like GPRS...

Two alternatives
One alternative for putting in your e-mail address: www.mailinator.com. it creates a REAL, WORKING disposable e-mail address. You have to see the site to believe it.
Second, you can try Mr Postman at http://mrpostman.sourceforge.net which is a Java program that does pretty much the same thing. I haven't tried this (I prefer YahooPOPs, since my Hotmail box is for ignoring). All you need to do is connect to the pseudo POP server on your desktop on an unusual port number and you can POP mail from that right into your PPC.

Excallibur, you've tried 3 apps., so you may have tried Pocket Hotmail as well. If not yet, you may want to try it...here is the link to Handango download site:
http://www.handango.com/PlatformProd...Search=hotmail
It worked for me AOK on PPC 2002...now don't need it as Israel MSN has a POP3 option. Please let me know if it doesn't work on WM2003 IPAQ 2215..
Shalom/Salam is the only way after all...
