"BigSlick Software, Inc. is proud to announce the release of a fun, fast-paced Texas Holdem poker game for the Pocket PC, Pocket Rockets Pro. Featuring visually stunning graphics developed using the GapiDraw SDK, Pocket Rockets Pro provides the Pocket PC user with hours of poker fun. Your job, turn your measly $100 bankroll into $10,000. Limits start at $2/$4 but increase along with your bankroll. Turn your $100 into $200 and limits increase to $4/$8, get up to $500 limits shoot up to $10/$20 and so on and so on.

In Tournament mode you start with $1000 in chips with limits of $15/$30. After 10 hands they increase to $25/$50 and continue to increase every 10 hands until one player has it all. In multiplayer mode, play against another PocketPC carrying buddy via an infrared connection. One person plays host and chooses the starting chips and what it takes to win; Play until one person has all the chips, after a certain number of hands, or after a certain amount of time. It is you vs. them in a Texas style showdown.

The link works for me.

Is this 1 on 1 Holdem only? That's what the screenshots and description make it look like.

Yes, the game is head's up Texas Hold'em. We wanted to deliver a unique version of a texas hold'em to pocket poker players, so we decided to focus on delivering a tournament type experience. The next version will include more players and BlueTooth support - we wanted to add BlueTooth to this version but unfortunately couldn't deliver in time.

Well first off it is really nice to see a card game program that has very good graphics.

As a part-time professional poker player I must say that the game is very good.
I love tourney's but to be honest I play more money tables then tourney's.

I am very impressed by the one on one play, but I don't think neglecting the 8-10 player games was a great idea.

In a real life game, MOST people won't ever get to the one-on-one play with someone at the final table. Therefore playing this game for education (knowing what to hold, fold, play etc) is not very relaistic, although for passing the time, it is alot of fun.

I have yet to see a realisitc hold'em game on a PPC. There is real time simulation software etc for the pc, but nothing for PPC yet.

I look forward to seeing how this program turns out in the future.
I would also love to play with other at my workplace...BUT I work at home so that doesn't work for me...that is why I am so interested in the progress of the single player modes.

If you want any beta testers, let me know at [email protected]

Thanks
Thanos

I'm afraid Pocket PC thoughts are a bit slow with the news, this game was released a fair while ago, there is a review of it on pdarcade.com
