Default "Volume presets" application?

I just discovered that under Windows Mobile 2003, PocketMusic has a severe bug when you use their volume controls - the playback skips for a second, and when it comes back there is continuous nasty crackling and popping until you restart the player. Because I listen to music both in headphones and via a cassette adapter in my car stereo, I change the volume a fair amount. I really liked PocketMusic's ability to map hardware buttons to the Volume Up and Volume Down controls, so I didn't have to keep pulling the stylus out. Since I can't use that ability anymore, I was curious if there was any piece of software out there (either built in to an existing player or as a standalone app) that allowed easy toggling between different volume levels. Does such a thing exist?
