Default Another iPAQ 4000-series -- the 4150?

http://www.pocketpcitalia.com/preview_hp_4150.asp

Pocket PC Italia isn't slowing down -- now they have a preview of another rumored iPAQ, the 4150.

The expected specs on this unit are interesting -- 400MHz XScale, 64MB of RAM, BT & WiFi built-in, but only SD -- sort of a cross between a 5450 and a 1940. It's .53" thick and 4.4 oz, so it's certainly very close to the diminuitive end of the iPAQ lineup. It'll be interesting to see if this makes it to market.

All I have to say is bravo to Pocket PC Italia, they've had some interesting articles in the past year. Not to mention the "Top Secret" flash video.

This would be perfect if only they included a CF slot so I could use my GPS. I might buy it anyway and invest in a Bluetooth GPS. I just love the smaller size iPaqs. Despite all of its quirks, the 2210 I recently bought is my favorite Pocket PC ever.

As long as the battery life is good, then this pretty much is my dream PDA! pclove:

(a little more RAM would be cool though)

Default yes...

GREAT specs. But , add a hi-res screen and 10+ hours battery life and THAT would be my dream PDA... almost there...

Okay! This is really looking nice. I can see this being what I upgrade to from my 5450 in a few months -- if it's real!

Yeah, I still stick with my Ipaq 3970 and really like this device, especially when coupled with a NavMan GPS.

All these new slim-form Ipaqs seem to reduce the possibility for expansion sleeves like before. Although it makes the unit a bit too big to lug around in your pocket, its great for e.g. car use. How are these Compactflash based GPS'es compared to e.g. the NavMan. Do they work well?

The main thing I miss is battery lifetime. Some 10 hours would be nice!

Default Speechless

I will be more then willing to ditch my 2215 for this!!!! That is of course if they did not muff the screen like they did on 1940/5 series.

I have a question though. Why is everyone still doing the whole usb wrapper over serial? why haven't we moved on?

Yeah I'll be Ebaying my 2210 if this is released.

Having played with a 1940 this week I love the size but second the repsonse above about the 1940 screen!

If they could use the 1910 screen in this device it would be a killer.

Having had my 2210 since July I have never used the CF slot so SD only is fine by me.

I REALLY hope this sees the light of day!

This would be a great device although I'm curious at the dimensions. Having both Bluetooth and WiFi would be great but you need a good capacity battery to support these features and the 900mA battery in the current 19xx series just doesn't cut it. I also thought that was one of the reasons for bringing in the Samsung chip over the XScale in the 19xx series.
Still, if this device materialises, I would be very interested.
