Default More Pictures of the New Gateway 100x

French site Mobi-Mania has gotten their hands on some photos of the prototype for the new Gateway Pocket PC.

The speaker design is kind of cute; it looks like the Gateway Pocket PC may have dual speakers, and not just pretend speaker holes on one side for symmetry. And check it out, ladies and gentlemen! It has a scroll wheel!

definitely a rocker (im basing from the big thump i'm seeing from the top of the "scroll wheel"). It would have been nice if it's a "true" jog dial. :wink:

Default The Jornada 5xx series reborn
I would swear that this puppy looks pretty much like the 5xx Jornadas. It only seems to lack the cover. I wonder if the folks who designed that are working for the ODM Gateway is using for their pda?

So, it is a prototype, right?

I don't like the fact that they have a switch to pull out the backup battery (if I had it, I would be accidentally pushing it over and over again or scraping my hand with it) and the button layout doesn't seem good for games (emulators will be tough to play on this thing) , but otherwise it looks pretty good.

Well rounded and well shaped. Would be cool if they released color covers like on the Cassio. This PDA looks like its aimed to the consumer market at last, with the double speakers and all.

Looks pretty neat! Anyone notice the cradle, looks like it's collapsable(for those travelors out there).

I like this devise. I like the way it looks and the color. Nice to see another company making PPC's.

Looks ok, but the speaker holes look very odd...what's with the weird shapes? :confused totally:

It is a very nice PPC. If it does have 2 speakers thats going to be nice...and plus the cf and sd slots are also something thats welcome. Now i just want to see one in person to see how the screen is in relation to the ipaqs. Oh and whats the price supposed to be? 300-350?
