Default The Dell Axim x5 on the new Windows Mobile 2003 Operating System

http://www.aximsite.com/modules.php...showpage&pid=21

"Have you been waiting and wondering long enough? Well, today is the day that Microsoft unvieled their brand new OS, Windows Mobile. When I was asked by Dells Public Relations Representitive for the Dell Axim brand Pocket PC to review the all new OS, I was honored. When I started this site 6 months ago on a $10 a month hosting plan, I never imagined what Aximsite would become. Well here we are and we have plenty to report."

This is a very detailed article Windows Mobile 2003 that goes into almost obscene detail about the new OS, and is a must-read for you Dell Axim owners. Way to go Aximsite!

I can't believe they are going to make us pay for our upgrade. Oh well, I will still do it.

That is a great review although it's way too early in the morning to want to read all the detail. Good job Axim Site!!!! :way to go:

Also fantastic news that Dell are making the upgrade available. I believe they are the first manufacturer to confirm this, which with their good service with the other ROM upgrades was to be expected.

I don't believe too many people thought the upgrades would have been free, I certainly have never had a free Windows upgrade from MS.

Good question. This will make up my mind weather or not to upgrade. Of course eventually all the software will be written for the new "standard" and you will be forced to upgrade anyway. The test results on Aximsite do no look to promising though.

I would guess it won't since the Axim still has the restriction of the 100MHz memory bus.

However, I would still expect to see an improvement over the current Axim.

Great review! Here's an upgrade question though:

Is there any or as much of a speed benefit to upgrading the Axim if you have the PXA250 processor? I bought my Dell in December and have the slightly older CPU......

Thanks!
